City's 2024 Christmas Card Winners Announced

Congratulations to Maebry Golden, a 4th grade student at Central School, who won 1st place honors in the 2024 City of Effingham Christmas Card Contest. The top finishers were introduced at Tuesday night's City Council meeting.

Maebry received top honors for her entry featuring the Santa House on the lawn of the County Courthouse Museum downtown. Her entry will be featured on the City of Effingham Christmas card sent out by Effingham Mayor Mike Schutzbach.

2nd place honors went to Avery Wahl, a 1st grade student at Southside School, for her drawing of a snowman.

3rd place honors went to Brookelynn Pankau, a 4th grade student at Central School, for her abstract Christmas barn drawing.

City Tourism Director Jodi Thoele said the City received some 40 entries. Those entries are posted along the main hallway at City Hall.
