Teutopolis village board members Wednesday moved ahead with vehicle acquisitions.

The Board approved a Tax Increment Finance District application from the Teutopolis Fire Protection District for the purchase of a new fire engine; agreed to purchase a used pickup truck for the village foreman from Roy Schmidt Honda of Effingham; and agreed to purchase a street sweeper from Key Equipment.

Board members approved an engineering agreement with Milano and Grunloh for design of a cast iron water project. The Village has received a $1 million grant to cover the cost of installation of the lines. There was also discussion of drainage issues at 605 West Southern Row and Village Foreman Carl Pals will discuss the matter with the homeowner.

There was discussion of a TIF application and a TIF intergovernmental agreement between the village and Ryan and Mary Spencer who would like to establish a restaurant to be known as Seigfried's in the former Designs Unlimited location, but the matter was tabled until a future meeting.

The Board passed an ordinance regulating mobile food establishments. The food trucks will be allowed, but will have to obtain permits from the village clerk and will have to operate only where permitted. Also, the Board voted to establish parallel parking by Plot Twist at 111 North Plum Street, and approved drainage easements to allow clean out of ditches along the CSX Railroad.
