Area Organizations Participate In Veterans Day Service

Area veterans organizations participated in today's Veterans Day Service. Included were the Effingham American Legion Post 120 & Auxiliary, Theodore Hoffman VFW Post 1769 & Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7 & Auxiliary, Teutopolis American Legion Post 924, Elks Lodge #1016 flag holders, Marine Corps League, 40 et 8 Voiture 1439 and Amvets Post 40.

Master of Ceremonies was Don Borries from Amerian Legion Post 120. Invocation and Benediction was by Pastor Steve Linton of The Journey Church in Effingham. Raising of the American Flag by Charlie McWhorter and Bob McWhorter.

The National Anthem was was Pat and Julie Zuber.

Guest speaker was Steven P. Schmidt, LCDR, USN retired.

Elks Lodge #1016 had a Memorial Donation.

Salute to Our Veterans was the playing of Taps by Matt Stead.
