No Injuries Reported from Shots Being Fired on Interstate 70 East of Effingham

No one was injured following an incident Sunday afternoon where shots were reported fired at oncoming traffic on I-70 in Effingham County.

The incident happened at about 3:11pm. Illinois State Police responded to a report that a suspect reportedly fired a weapon at oncoming eastbound traffic. A State Police trooper took the suspect into custody. 

Police say there is no continuing threat to the community. At this time, no vehicles have reported damage and there are no reported injuries.

The incident occurred on Westbound I-70 near milepost 102, about three miles east of Interstate 57, east of Effingham.
