Nine-Year Sentence for Criminal Sexual Assault in Fayette County

A man has been sentenced in Fayette County Circuit Court to nine years in prison for criminal sexual assault.

52-year-old Jason L. Sloan had been charged with four counts of the offense, but pleaded guilty to one count in exchange for dismissal of the other three charges.

The St. Elmo man admitted to committing a sexual act with a child who was 11 years old at the time of the offense. The incident occurred between August and December of 2018. 

Sloan, who is a former Dieterich resident, will spend up to a year on mandatory supervised release once out of prison. He must also pay fines and court costs. He was given credit for 155 days served in custody while awaiting disposition of his case.
