The 1% sales tax question in Effingham County lost Tuesday.

With all 38 precincts tabulated, the totals are NO 9,642 to YES 9,090.

Again, that's with all 38 precincts tabulated.

As for the three statewide advisory referenda, the question regarding civil action for those who harm election officials passed overwhelmingly; the question on adding 3% in sales tax on those making $1 million or more passed by a wide margin; and the question on adding reproductive rights to health insurance passed but by a much narrower margin.

The countywide advisory question on whether any funds should be spent on illegal migrants drew a No vote of 90% to 10%.
