A number of Effingham young people are involved in the production of "SpongeBob the Musical, Jr." this weekend at The Little Theatre on the Square in Sullivan.

Students from Unit 40 and St. Anthony are left to right: Evie Sayne, Henry Gannaway, Johanna Stice and Payton Field.

This production is not the cartoon you're thinking of from years ago!  While the characters remain the same, this is a singing-dancing-dynamic stage show!  When the crew discovers that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world.  With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up.  This show has an underlying message of how the power of optimism can truly save the world!

"SpongeBob the Musical, Jr." will be presented four times for the public...tonight at 7:30pm, Saturday, November 2nd at 10:30am and 2pm, and Sunday, November 3 at 2pm. Tickets are available at www.thelittletheatre.org
