(KERRY HIRTZEL AND MICHELLE KOLLMANN)

Effingham County Clerk and Recorder Michelle Kollmann spoke to Effingham Noon Rotary less than a week before Election Day about the election process.

Kollmann, the chief election authority for the county, discussed the plans and preparation, everything from securing the ballots to hiring election judges.

The Rotary weekly program chairman was Kollmann's predecessor, Kerry Hirtzel, who retired from office in 2022.

Kollmann said that, as of Tuesday, more than 3,600 votes had already been cast in the county.
