A Sheriff's Sale is scheduled for Monday morning, November 4, to auction off the Village Square Mall property.

The sale will begin at 10am on the first floor of the Effingham County Government Center.

The City is owed close to $1.2 million for work done to the Mall property. The auction is an attempt to recoup the City's investment.

The question of the Mall has been the subject of an ongoing lawsuit between the City and Village Square Mall Realty Management. City officials have shared in the past that the goal is to keep the Mall operating and to recover any investment made by the City in the Mall property.
