Local Man Sentenced to Prison on Firearms Charge

A local man has been sentenced to prison time for a firearms offense.

42-year-old Frank Woodall of Effingham was sentenced to three years in prison Monday on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Counts of disorderly conduct, aggravated assault, two counts of resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and aggravated assault of a peace officer were dismissed as part of the plea.

Woodall will serve six months of mandatory supervised release once out of prison. He was also fined.

Woodall was orignally arrested on the charges in March.
