Teutopolis School Board Holds October Meeting

Teutopolis school board members this week authorized the district architect to complete drawings for the high school cafeteria roof, tuckpointing at the junior high building, and the secure entrances to the junior high and high school buildings.

The Board approved a subcommittee recommendation to adopt a Board self-assessment tool, and approved a recommendation to direct the superintendent to share the Board-created Climate Surveywith all staff, to organize responses, and to create a list of possible action items for the November meeting.

Teutopolis Superintendent Matt Sturgeon presented an update on transportation services, including the October rollout of a parent portal for monitoring bus pickup and dropoff information. Sturgeon also reported that an After School Program is again being considered through a possible third party partner, and reported that community open houses and guided facility tours were held last week in conjunction with parent-teacher conferences, that tentative tax levy approval is set for November, with finaliziing in December.

In personnel moves, the Teutopolis board accepted the irrevocable resignation of Amy Oseland as junior high Scholar Bowl coach and Brittany Meyer of as junior high softball coach. The Board hired Todd Pike as grade school custodian and Casey Deters as high school drama volunteer.
