Effingham Noon Rotary Club members heard from new Effingham High School Athletic Director and Boys Basketball Coach Mack Thompson at their meeting October 23.

Thompson was hired to replace retired Unit 40 Activities Director David Woltman and former boys coach Obie Farmer. He comes to Unit 40 after more than a dozen seasons as boys basketball coach at Robinson. Thompson was hired as the high school athletic director while EHS graduate Vince Rohr was hired as junior high AD.

Sid Kibler served as Rotary weekly program chairman.

Bria Beals was the Rotary student guest. Bria, a multi-sport athlete at Effingham High School, is the daughter of Lori Beals and Grant Beals. She has college plans and will likely play volleyball.
