Although the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Effingham County is not until Friday, July 11th, 2025, work is beginning now to build the celebration that will bring together passionate supporters who embody the American Cancer Society mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.

Organizers have announced that the 2025 Relay For Life will take place at a new venue: Teutopolis Community Park, located next door to the long-time site at Teutopolis Jr. High School.

"We are excited to bring the Relay For Life of Effingham County to Teutopolis Community Park in 2025," said Becky Kinman, Event Co-Chair. "This new location will provide a unique experience for our participants and supporters, allowing us to continue to celebrate the lives touched by cancer and continue our fight against this disease."

Relay For Life events are a vital fundraising component for the American Cancer Society, bringing communities together to honor cancer survivors, remember those lost to the disease, and raise money for research, advocacy, and patient support. The 2025 event promises an evening filled with inspiring activities, entertainment, and opportunities for community involvement.

“In Effingham County, Relayers come together because of a shared passion for ending cancer as we know it. No matter how cancer has impacted your life and how you want to get involved, you have a team here, ready to welcome you,” said Ron Mietzner, Event Co-Chair.
