Teutopolis village board members were updated on various capital improvement projects at last week's meeting.

Lee Beckman from Milano and Grunloh Engineers reported that the John Street asphalt project has been completed, and reminded that the State Street project is underway this week. Beckman said they may be able to use other funds to fix the entrance to John Street.

The Board approved a TIF 1 payout of $9,349.38 for SRMD, reimbursing 75% of their 2023, payable in 2024 real estate taxes. It was also agreed to approve a TIF 2 payout of $39,943.82 to Siemer Milling Company, reimbursing them 100% of the 2023, payable 2024 real estate taxes.

Board members tabled a TIF application from Ryan and Mary Spencer until the November 6 meeting, and to approve the GPS Data Collection and GIS Mapping quote from Illinois Rural Water for $11,257.20. The Board also purchased utility mapping software called Diamond Maps, along with any tablets or cases needed to the complete the project.

Teutopolis board members discussed railroad drainage from Oak Street to Farmweld, extending slightly to the north. Following the discussion, the Board has decided to proceed with clearing the ditches. The action should ensure that the work will be completed before the construction of the Safe Routes to School sidewalks begins.

Teutopolis Board President David Repking and Courtney Yockey of The Alliance updated the Board on the Comprehensive Plan process. The first in-person meeting will be on October 31 from 10am to 1pm.
