Effingham County 4-H celebrated National 4-H Week by hosting a Golden Rock Hunt that brought families and community members together for a week of fun and adventure. Each day, clues were posted on the Effingham County 4-H Facebook page, encouraging families all over the county to head outdoors, explore, and work together to track down the special golden rock.

After a few days of suspense and excitement, the Golden Rock was found by Brody Enloe, Nolan, Jennifer, and Cody Helmuth! A huge congratulations to this team for their determination and sharp eyes in tracking down the hidden gem. As a reward for their efforts, they will enjoy a magical evening at The Polar Express, making all their hard work and perseverance worth it.

“It was wonderful to see so many families out in our community enjoying time together outdoors,” shared University of Illinois Extension Program Coordinator Patti Logan. “The Golden Rock Hunt brought families closer, encouraged teamwork, and reminded us all of the joy that comes from spending quality time together.”
