A homeless man has been charged with Arson after his arrest on Thursday.

55-year-old James R. Lowe was arrested in connection with a September 13th incident in the 300 block of East Kreke Avenue.

City police earlier this week arrested Effingham resident Alexander Pasley on a series of charges.

The 25-year-old Pasley was arrested Tuesday evening on Circle Drive near the intersection with Temple Avenue. Pasley was arrested on counts including aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, reckless conduct, domestic battery and endangering the life or health of a child.

Chief McFarland said the altercation involved Pasley allegedly punching a police officer and then violently resisting arrest.
