Effingham Marching Invitational Set for Saturday

The Annual Effingham Marching Invitational will welcome over 20 marching bands from across the region to Effingham High School on Saturday, October 5, to compete for Best Music, Percussion, General Effects, Drum Major and more.

The 2024 Invitational, which will be held at Washington Savings Bank Stadium at EHS, begins at noon on Saturday. Bands will perform throughout the day with an awards ceremonies held at 4:30 pm and 7:45 p.m.

Also, an Exhibition Performance by the EHS Red Regiment will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Bands competing include: Paris High School, Mattoon High School, Triad High School, Flora High School, Richland County High School, Mascoutah High School, Sangamon Valley High School, Newton Community High School, Lincoln Community High School, Northwest High School, Civic Memorial High School, Champaign Centennial High School, Williamsville High School, Centralia High School, LeRoy High School, Unity High School, MacArthur High School, Maroa-Forsyth High School, Oblong High School, Okaw Valley High School, Robinson High School, Cumberland CUSD, and Casey-Westfield High School.

The entry fee for the invitational is $10 for adults; $5 for students, seniors and military; and free for children 3 years and under.

Concessions and grill items will be available for purchase. Food trucks will also be setup at the event including Macklin Meadow Kettle Corn, Toppins Soft Serve, La Luna Mexican Restaurant, and Donut Dollies Mini Donuts.
