Dieterich Teenager Injured in Weekend Crash

A Dieterich teenager was injured in a crash near Elliottstown Sunday afternoon.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office said the 17-year-old girl was traveling southbound on 1775th Road when the girl lost control of the vehicle in loose gravel. She overcorrected to the left and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a row of trees before overturning, coming to rest on its top.

Rural Med EMS took the girl to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

No citations were issued.

The crash occurred at 3:24pm Sunday, about a mile north of 700th Avenue.
