Dieterich Teenager Injured in Crash

A Dieterich teenager was injured in a crash Sunday afternoon.

Effingham County Sheriff's Office reported the crash occurred at 3:24pm on 1775th Road, about one mile north of 700th Avenue. The rural area is northwest of Elliotstown.

Deputies say a 17-year-old girl was traveling southbound when she veered to the right side of the roadway. The girl lost control of the vehicle in loose gravel, overcorrected to the left, and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a row of trees before overturning, coming to rest on its top.

The teenager was transported by Rural Med EMS to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.
