University of Illinois System President Tim Killeen and system leadership will be meeting with Siemer Milling Company President and UIUC alumnus and donor Rick Siemer this week. The focus will be the strong connections between academia and agriculture.

An 11:30am meeting is scheduled Thursday in Teutopolis at the Siemer Milling Company offices.

Siemer Milling announced in February a $1 million gift to launch the Siemer Milling Company Professorship and the Illinois Wheat Initiative within the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at Urbana-Champaign.

The University of Illnois System's annual state tour strengthens partnerships, showcases successful initiatives and explores opportunities for collaboration and partnership with communities across Illinois. The tour addresses key areas such as economic development, innovation, access and affordability, and sustainability, all with the goal of improving the lives of the state's residents.
