There were 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending September 22, 2024.

Statewide, the average temperature was 73.2 degrees, 9.0 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.39 inches, 0.45 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 18 percent very short, 38 percent short, and 44 percent adequate. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 18 percent very short, 35 percent short, and 47 percent adequate.

Corn dented reached 97 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 89 percent. Corn mature reached 72 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 56 percent. Corn harvested reached 14 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 7 percent. Corn condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 56 percent good, and 20 percent excellent.

Soybeans dropping leaves reached 77 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 51 percent. Soybeans harvested reached 15 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 3 percent. Soybeans condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 23 percent fair, 56 percent good, and 15 percent excellent.

Winter wheat planted reached 6 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 3 percent.
