Three Vehicles Collide on I-70 Near St. Elmo Thursday Afternoon

Three vehicles were involved in a collision on I-70 westbound in Fayette County Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred about 11:46am, about one mile east of the St. Elmo interchange.

Illinois State Police report a pickup truck and two cars were involved in the crash.

Non-life threatening injuries were reported. Both westbound lanes were closed for the landing of a medical helicopter, with traffic diverted off the interstate at the Altamont interchange.

All lanes were re-opened shortly after 1pm. State police said no other information was available on the crash.
