(LANDIN MILLER)

A local man charged with a series of sex offenses has been found unfit for trial at this time.

22-year-old Landin Miller of Effingham faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography, each punishable by up to seven years in prison. However, psychologist Dr. Jerry Boyd found that Miller is unfit for trial.

Boyd said, though, that Miller can be made fit within 12 months and Judge Allan Lolie ruled Miller unfit based on Boyd's evaluation. Miller will remain in the custody of the Illinois Department of Human Services.

Investigators from the Illinois Attorney General's Office, along with officers from the Effingham Police Department, conducted a search of Miller's residence on Veterans Drive in Effingham in May and arrested Miller when evidence of child pornography was discovered.

A status hearing for Miller was scheduled for November 14.
