A Cumberland County man has been charged with producing and possessing child sexual abuse material.

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul's office has charged 49-year-old William A. Williams of Greenup with five counts of production of child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography. Williams has also been charged with one count of delivery of methamphetamine, and possession of meth manfacturing materials.

Illinois Attorney General investigators, with the assistance of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office and the Greenup Police Department, conducted a search of Williams' residence in Greenup on Wednesday of this week. Williams was arrested following the discovery of several thousand digital images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material on several devices.

Raoul's office is co-prosecuting the case with Cumberland County State's Attorney Bryan Robbins.

Williams is being held in Cumberland County Jail in Toledo until his detention hearing on Tuesday, September 3.

The production of child pornography charges are Class X Felonies, meaning mandatory prison time if Williams is found guilty.
