Altamont Council Tables Main Street Sale

Action on the much-discussed property at 107 North Main Street was again tabled Monday by the Altamont City Council.

It was expected that action to sell the property would take place Monday once the Council decided at their previous meeting on a bid to purchase the parcel. However, Mayor Pro-Tem Mike Walker said he wanted clarification whether there is any conflict of interest on the sale so action on the sale was tabled.

Also Monday, the Altamont Council authorized execution of a license agreement on a sale of property. The former garage located on a portion of North 6th Street is owned by the Luchtefeld family, but also by the City. The Council agreed to let the family sell the property, so the sale is expected to move ahead.
