Health Department Offering Dental Clinics

The Effingham County Health Department (ECHD) announced that it is now offering clinics with dental cleanings, fluoride and Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) treatments for qualifying adults.
To qualify, you must be an Effingham County resident or receive WIC services through ECHD, 20 years or older, have Medicaid or no insurance, be income eligible, and have not been to the dentist in a year.
The Health Department will be hosting its next dental clinics on Mondays, August 26th and October 21st from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. Again, to qualify, you must be an Effingham County resident or receive WIC services through ECHD, you must be 20 or older, have Medicaid or no insurance, be income eligible and have not been to the dentist in a year.
These clinics are offered thanks to the services of two Public Health Dental Hygienists, Ashley Pryor, RDH, PHDH, and Joanna Laffey, RDH, PHDH. Call 217-342-9237 and ask for Lyndsey to schedule your appointment; paperwork will need to be completed by phone or in person prior to your visit.
This service has been made possible by grants from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) as well as donations of supplies and equipment from Patterson Dental and Sarah Bush Lincoln Dental Services. Patterson Dental has donated various supplies such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, denture brushes, and dental floss. Sarah Bush Lincoln Dental Services has contributed over $18,000 in dental equipment needed to make this service possible.
