One Injured in Crash in Dieterich

A Newton man was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon in Dieterich.

The crash happened at 1:16pm on Center Street at Main Street. The Effingham County Sheriff's Office reports a car driven by 78-year-old Bobby Goode of Newton collided with a pickup truck driven by 37-year-old William Holcomb of Lexington, Kentucky. The report indicates that Goode failed to stop for a red light.

Goode was taken by Rural Med EMS to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. 

Goode was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
