Effingham Unit 40 board members Monday agreed to move ahead with Phase One of a facilities plan.
Phase One would include a Grades K-2 building, as well as improvements to the main parking lot at Effingham High School and parking improvements at Central School. The method of funding the project is yet to be finalized.
A prospectus presented by BLDD Architects included six phases of improvements, but Board members suggested proceeding with Phase One for now. The funding for Phase One is expected to include the county sales tax to appear on the November ballot. The funding for Phase One is to be revisited at the Board's September meeting.
