A case has been closed concerning a break-in at a house along Funkhouser Road last Christmastime.
Three individuals...two 19-year-olds and a juvenile...entered the house the morning of December 23rd. The Effingham County Sheriff's Office received a report that one of the subjects was armed.
One subject, 19-year-old Lance Flowers of Effingham, was found guilty Wednesday of criminal trespass to a residence. Flowers was placed on two years' probation. His counts of criminal damage to property and residential burglary were dismissed as part of the plea. He was ordered to pay more than $1,500 in resitution and was assessed fines plus costs.
Another defendant, 19-year-old Cylas Niemeyer of Effingham, was placed on court supervision and ordered to do public service work.
The juvenile's case was handled in juvenile court.
