Brownstown Woman Charged w/Weapon and Drug Charges

A Brownstown woman is facing a series of charges, including a Class X Felony count of armed violence.

50-year-old Brenda Rutherford faces charges of possession of a weapon. Rutherford is accused of being possession of a handgun while in possession of methamphetamine. She also faces counts of aggravated assault and endangering the life or health of a child.

Rutherford also faces drug charges, including felony counts of unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and unlawful possession of meth.

In court, Rutherford was released, but with electronic home confinement. She is next due in court on August 28.
