Fayette County Murder Trial Scheduled for September

A trial date of September 16 has been set for the Fayette County murder trial of Kaden A. Phillips.

The 17-year-old Phillips is also charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm. The charges stem from the January shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in St. Peter.

A final pre-trial hearing in the case has been scheduled for September 4.

Illinois State Police reported at the time that Phillips fled the scene, but was later apprehended. 

Phillips remains in custody awaiting trial.
