Details on funeral services for the 3 Stewardson-Strasburg students; Karly Wetherell, Sienna Bostedo, and Edie Wittenberg, who were killed in last week's traffic accident, have now been released, and can be found on our Obituaries page by clicking here

In addition, Stewardson Strasburg School officials notified the public of related events on Monday and Tuesday.  On the schools social media page, they stated:

"To honor the memories of Edie Wittenberg, Karly Wetherell, and Sienna Bostedo, visitation services will be held on Tuesday, 7/16, at Stew-Stras High School gymnasium from 2-8.  You are invited to come together, share memories, and find solace in each other's presence.  We will gather to mourn, support each other, and remember the beautiful lives and amazing impact that these three individuals have had on all of us.

On Monday, 7/15, from 5:30-6:30, any students, Stew-Stras, Windsor, or Trinity, sports teams, clubs, or groups, and any other affected students are welcome to come to the school to decorate the halls with pictures and caring words.  Poster Boards, markers, and pens will be supplied.  If you want to decorate with pictures please bring them already printed.

Grief counselors, therapy dogs, and other resources will be available in the library to assist students or others in need during the visitation.

Let us remember these students with love and honor their legacies by supporting one another through this difficult journey of grief. Our thoughts are prayers continue for the Bostedo, Wetherell, and Wittenberg families."

Officials also released information about some options for those looking to make donations in memory of the students, saying:

"Donations can still be given directly through the Stewardson Strasburg District.   Also, First National Bank in Stewardson and Shelby County State Bank in Strasburg will open accounts on Monday, July 15th where donations for these families can be deposited anonymously in the “Prayers for Stew-Stras” account.  All the proceeds from the accounts will be divided and given directly to the families of the three young ladies involved in the accident.  All branch locations of First National Bank and Shelby County State Bank will be able to accept donations.  This account is separate from any designated memorials that those families may wish to establish.  For any questions regarding these accounts, please contact Justin Deters at Stewardson-Strasburg CUSD 5A, Jessica Howe at First National Bank in Stewardson, or Nate Wascher at Shelby County State Bank in Strasburg.

The families have not requested any such fund or assistance.  However, the numerous calls and requests for how these groups and individuals can give to the families continue to pour in and this provides a convenient and safe  manner to hold these funds."
