The Effingham Performance Center announces the Illinois Arts Council will be hosting an informational session at The EPC to present guidelines on its new grant programs.

The session will begin at 4 pm on Tuesday, July 9, at The EPC and is expected to last 60 to 90 minutes. The session will include a presentation and a question/answer segment. Susan Dickerson, who oversees the Eastern Region of the state, will lead the session.

“We are excited to welcome the Illinois Arts Council to Effingham and to learn about the new guidelines to the grant program,” said Kim Jansen, executive director of The EPC.  “The Effingham Performance Center has been very fortunate to receive funding through this organization, and we are hopeful that other organizations in the Effingham area can also benefit from this resource.”

The Illinois Arts Council is a state agency that provides grants for the arts in Illinois. Over the past year, it has streamlined and simplified its grant programs and application process. It has also adopted a regional model to its grantmaking to allow for easier outreach to communities across the state.

The session will review all of IAC’s FY25 grant opportunities and discuss in-depth the General Operating Support and Youth Employment in the Arts application, which is currently open until July 19, 2024.

IAC is hoping to connect with:

--Individual artists

--Art educators

--Non-profits who do arts-based programming in support of their mission

--Community arts organizations who are, or want to be, 501c3 non-profits.

--City, park district, and library arts programmers

--Local arts councils

“We hope area art agencies will be able to join us to learn more about funding for the arts in our region of the state,” said Jansen.
