The Effingham County Republican Central Committee, along with the Effingham County Board, is seeking candidates for a soon-to-be vacant seat on the County Board from District F.

Current board member Elizabeth Huston's last day in office will be July 15. The vacancy is to be filled by appointment at the County Board meeting on July 15.

Persons seeking to fill the vacancy must reside in Effingham County District F and meet any and all statutory requirements to be a county board member. The person appointed to the seat will serve until the General Election in November, and will begin their duties on the day they are appointed. The appointee must also be of the same political party as Huston, in this case the Republican Party.

Effingham County residents who would like to be considered as candidates should email a letter of interest and resume to effinghamgop@gmail.com by 5pm on July 12.
