Dieterich Ready for 4th of July Celebration on Thursday

Dieterich has been on a roll as far as celebrations, but the biggest event of the year for the community is their Independence Day celebration.

In fact, the Dieterich celebration actually begins on Wednesday night, the 3rd. Axe Throwing by Haulin' Axe Indy is planned from 4 to 9pm. A variety of food vendors and beer garden will open at 5pm. Max Heuerman will perform from 5 to 8pm and the Feudin' Hillbillys will perform from 8 to 11pm.

The 4th at Dieterich will run all day Thursday. 

The Firecracker 5K Run or 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at Wright Family Center will begin at 7am, the food and drink vendors will open at 10am on Virginia Street, and Axe Throwing is planned from 10am to 9pm.

The big change this year in Dieterich is the start time for the parade. This year's parade will begin at 10:30am with lineup at the high school parking lot at 9:30am. The parade theme is "Celebrating Heroes: Past, Present and Future".

The beer garden will be open from 11am to 10pm. A Civic Center porkburger luncheon meal will be available from 11am to 2pm. Concessions will be available in the park pavilion from 11am to 9pm. Inflatable bounce houses will be available in the outfield from noon to 8pm with a $10 all day armband available. Balloon artists and face painting will be available for free from noon to 4pm. A dunk tank featuring Dieterich youth will be available from noon to 5pm. Pony rides will be offered beginning at noon. Youth pedal tractor pulls will begin at 1:30pm. A bags tournament will begin at 2pm. Avery Bohnhoff will perform at 3pm. Turtle races will begin in the outfield at 4pm, and it's bring your own turtle! Bullfrog jumping will be held in the outfield beginning at 4:30pm, and it's bring your own bullfrog. Gina's Karaoke will be on stage from 4:30 to 6:30pm. The Little King and Queen Contest will begin on stage at 6:30pm. The Chandeliers will perform on stage from 7 to 9pm, and the fireworks are set for 9:15pm.
