Cumberland Superintendent Announces Upcoming Retirement

Cumberland school board members will soon begin the process of choosing a superintendent.

Todd Butler announced at the Board's recent meeting that he will resign effective June 30, 2025. 

Also at the meeting, the Board hired Charity Ozier as a middle school teacher, hired Audrey (Scott) Sherrick as a middle school teacher, hired Shona Steber-Mallinson as a high school Science teacher, and reassigned Kami Hensley as the TLC/Bridges bus route aide.

The Board also accepted the resignation of Chelsea Cox as a teacher and coach, accepted the resignation of Jennifer Dryden as a teacher, accepted the resignation of Wade Bradley as high school head softball coach, accepted the resignation of Kendra Heinbaugh as high school assistant softball coach, accepted the resignation of Brenne Edwards as high school head girls track coach, and accepted the resignation of Zach Wolke as middle school boys basketball head coach.

Cumberland board members also approved the renewal of commercial property and casualty insurance through Prairie State Insurance Cooperative, and appproved bond purchases.

The Board got updates that the high school HVAC project is moving along nicely, that the grade school roofing project and southwest playground work is scheduled to start very soon, and the high school locker refinishing will begin at the end of July.
