Latest Attraction Unveiled at Lake Sara Beach Park

The number of attractions at Lake Sara Beach Park continues to grow.

A ribbon cutting was held this past Friday of the latest addition...sidewalk games painted on the concrete slab adjoining the bathhouse at the beach. The colorful addition that even includes hopscotch-like games for the kids is the creation of Sara Roepke. A former teacher, Roepke said she took early morning trips to the area to beat the worst of the heat and humidity.

The project follows redevelopment of the beach area, a play area, fitness courts, pickleball areas, a disc golf course and more. Lake Sara Parks and Rec Committee Chairman Tom Ryan said work is underway to cover the costs of the various projects.
