There were 6.5 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending June 23, 2024.

Statewide, the average temperature was 80.6 degrees, 7.2 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.74 inches, 0.21 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 13 percent very short, 34 percent short, 52 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 9 percent very short, 30 percent short, 59 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus.

Corn emerged reached 96 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 95 percent. Corn silking reached 1 percent. Corn condition was rated 4 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 28 percent fair, 50 percent good, 12 percent excellent.

Soybeans planted reached 96 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 94 percent. Soybeans emerged reached 90 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 89 percent. Soybeans blooming reached 4 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 2 percent. Soybeans condition was rated 3 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 31 percent fair, 51 percent good, and 8 percent excellent.

Winter wheat harvested for grain reached 72 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 34 percent.
