Two box culverts on US Route 45 in Clay County will be replaced. The work will begin on Monday.

The box culverts are located just north of Persimmon Drive, or Clay County Road 600 North, and just south of Hickory Hills Lane, or 700 North.

To complete the box culvert replacements, only local traffic will be permitted on US 45 between Flora and Louisville. The removal of a box culvert requires its replacement to be installed prior to the removal of the other box culvert. Only one closure will occur at a time. A detour utilizing US Route 50, Xenia/Iola Road and Kinmundy Road will be posted. The replacement will provide motorists with a safer and smoother driving surface.

Work is expected to be completed by June 29.
