Stew-Stras Board Extends Leadership Team

Stewardson-Strasburg school board members voted this week to maintain their leadership team.

The Board approved a three-year extension for Justin Deters as superintendent, a three-year extension for Cody McCollum as high school principal and athletic director, and a four-year contract for Penny Hill as grade school principal.

Also this week, Deters reported that the district's window replacement project is nearing completion and shared that two volunteers are starting a Special Olympics team.

Board members hired Brock Friese as assistant junior high baseball coach; approved an amended budget for the current fiscal year; and approved a facility usage request for Central Illinois Xtreme Softball and Austin's Agility and Bball Training.

The Board also approved a contract with Christy Elder for school psychologist services, and voted to declare a van and a cargo trailer as surplus property.
