Two Arrests Following Thursday Traffic Stop

Two arrests resulted Thursday afternoon after Effingham City Police attempted a traffic stop. 

Police initiated the stop on South 3rd Street about 1:30pm, but the driver didn't stop. The driver failed to negotiate a turn and made contact with a building in the 400 block where two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.

City police arrested 45-year-old Scott L. McElroy of Effingham on a Shelby County warrant charging burglary. Also arrested was 24-year-old Cassandra S. Brown of Effingham on counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, aggravated fleeing, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
