Teutopolis Board Extends Sturgeon's Contract

Teutopolis school board members voted this week to extend the contract of Superintendent Matt Sturgeon. Sturgeon's contract will now run through the 2027-2028 school year.
The Board also approved salary and wage increases for district employees not covered under the collective bargaining agreements. Those include principals, directors, school psychologist, social worker, adminisrative assistants and unit office staff.
Those hired at the meeting were grade school and junior high school counselor Haley Honselman, junior high cook Wanda Koebele and high school bass fishing sponsor Lee Buehnerkemper.
The Board purchaed a school bus for $166,177 and will release the unit being replaced as surplus property. Also, an amended budget for the current fiscal year was approved, and property/casualty/liability, employee health, and workers comp insurance coverages were all approved.
