Jasper County board members heard that work began this week on the Apple Shed Road soil cement project designed to improve the road surface.
The Board heard that radio problems have lessened for the sheriff's department due to removal of a faulty amplifier, and discussed benefits with retirements. A Board rep will speak with the personnel committee. There was also discussion on an intergovernmental agreement with Wade Township and HOPE Trust health insurance. A committee rep plans to get an opinion from State's Attorney Kevin Parker on the question.
County Board members learned that the Jasper school district has been accepted into the area CEO Program, beginning with the 2014 school year. The Board also approved Dale Haskett and Pat Burtsch for two-year terms on the County Board of Review.
