One of two defendants in a Clay County drug case has pleaded guilty.
55-year-old Mary L. Jones of Olney pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine. Jones was placed on two years' probation, along with eight days in jail, which she has already served.
A Class X meth possession count, which was punishable by prison time, was dismissed as part of the negotiated plea.
Jones was arrested by the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force along with 51-year-old Daniel Cornwell of Louisville last week on counts of delivery of methamphetamine and obstructing justice. Cornwell is next due in court on July 1.
