Why All the Airplane Traffic in the Area Today?

Our newsroom was contacted this morning regarding a number of small airplanes flying over the air. The planes were following the same flight path, and the listeners wondered what was going on?

We checked with Effingham County Regional Airport. An official there said that the Civil Air Patrol is conducting an event at Coles County Airport outside Mattoon, and that was resulting in more air travel than normal.
