Altamont Mayoral Election Set for April 2025

The City of Altamont has received updated information regarding their mayoral election. The election was necessitated by the resignation last week of former mayor Dan Milleville.

Initially, the thought was that the election would take place in November. The Illinois State Board of Elections, however, has now determined that the election will take place in April of 2025, when the next municipal elections are held in Illinois.

In the meantime, the Altamont City Council will operate as a four-member body. Whoever is elected Mayor in April will take office in May of 2025. Until that time, Michael Walker will serve as Mayor Pro Tem.

The City of Altamont will announce later when 2025 election petitions are available.
