The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that work continues at the intersection of Fayette Avenue and Raney Street with the closure of the westbound lanes of Fayette Avenue and the north side of Raney Street. The closure begins on Tuesday, June 18, and is expected to last three to four weeks.

This closure is part of the Fayette Avenue reconstruction project. Westbound traffic will be moved to the newly constructed turn lane through the intersection. The north leg of the intersection will be closed. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained through the intersection on Fayette Avenue. Access to the Speedway truck stop/gas station will be at its east entrance. Access to the Comfort Suites Hotel will be from its south entrance.
