Village Foreman Carl Pals updated the Teutopolis Village Board this week about the water plant that was struck by lightning a few weeks ago.
Pals reported that the plant is now operational.
Additionally, Pals informed the Board about the costs of repairing a tornado siren near the junior high school building the sinkholes appearing throughout the village, and the catch basins along Main Street. The Board also approved the purchase of a tiller for $1,300 from Performance Lawn and Power.
The Board agreed to send appropriations for the new fiscal year to Village Attorney Tracy Willenborg with final action on the measure expected at the June 19th meeting. Board members also discussed upcoming projects with Milano and Grunloh Engineers. The decision was to hold off on a box culvert replacement and changes to the sidewalk in front of Plot Twist.
Board members also approved a request for quotations for reconstruction of a portion of Pearl Street. The project would replace the portion of the street adjacent to the railroad crossing.
The Board also approved an employee bereavement policy, and hired Serena Buzzard as a part-time clerk assistant.
