Measures Proposed by Local Legislators Headed to Governor

Two local legislators saw passage of measures by the General Assembly they sponsored to help emergency services agencies.
State Senator Steve McClure said Senate Bill 1102 will officially authorize Shelby County to operate its Rescue Squad and provide necessary benefits to squad members. McClure said the bill is designed up clear up regulations that could have forced the rescue squad to shut down.

State Senator Chapin Rose said Senate Bill 3402, after a few modifications in the House, passed the Senate as the final action of the General Assembly with a vote of 59-0 The measure formally transfers the ambulance portion of the Marshall Fire District to Clark County who is currently providing the service.
