Altamont Council Sets Plans for the New Fiscal Year

Altamont city council members acted at this week's meeting to reappoint city officers for the coming year.

Those appointed include City Clerk Sarah Stephen and Police Chief Alan Heiens, as well as department heads. Taylor Law Offices was retained as legal counsel for the city.

The Altamont Council also paid off work done on the roof at Diamond A in Gilbert Park and paid off the sidewalk work done on 3rd Street downtown in front of Kremer Pharmacy.

Council members passed a resolution allocating Motor Fuel Tax funds for street maintenance in the new fiscal year.. The work will take care of everything east of Main Street and north of Division Street, including Division Street.

The Council also approved execution of an agreement with the State extending sanitary sewer service from the Altamont wastewater treatment plant to the I-70 eastbound rest area, east of Altamont, that has been closed for some time.
